Gwynn rounding into all-around catalyst

Hidden in Monday night’s 6-5 loss to the D-backs was the fact that Tony Gwynn Jr. almost single-handedly won the game for the Padres.
Gwynn singled in each of his last three at-bats. He stole second in the seventh and scored the go-ahead run on a double by Kevin Kouzmanoff. He hustled from first to third on an Adrian Gonzalez base hit to left in the fifth, only to be stranded there with nobody out.
